Job summary

IonQ, Inc. is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Product to serve as a trusted partner to product, research, engineering, and go‑to‑market teams.

You will shape how IonQ's products are designed, built, and brought to market with practical, business-focused legal guidance across the product lifecycle. The role emphasizes strategic partnerships, technology transactions, and building a scalable product legal function, reporting to the Head of Product Legal and collaborating with cross‑functional

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active U.S. state bar membership or eligibility for in-house status.
• 8+ years of relevant experience at a leading law firm or in-house department.
• Experience advising on strategic technology product partnerships and complex transactions.
• Ability to move between product and transactional matters and work in ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Counsel IonQ's product and research teams with business-calibrated legal guidance across the product lifecycle.
• Draft, negotiate, and execute technology-driven transactions supporting product strategy (partnerships, licensing, joint development, supply and manufacturing).
• Shape playbooks and processes for a scalable product legal function.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and outside counsel.
• Translate complex legal concepts for non-lawyers and align product strategy with legal priorities.
