Job summary

IonQ, Inc. is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Product to partner with product, research and engineering teams across the full lifecycle of technology products.

You will shape transactions, advise on strategic partnerships, licensing, and supply arrangements, and help build a scalable product legal function. The role requires a J.D., 8+ years in leading firms or in-house, and a track record in drafting complex technology deals, with cross-functional collaboration and a pragmatic business

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active U.S. state bar membership.
• 8+ years of experience at a leading law firm and/or in-house.
• Strong track record drafting and negotiating technology transactions.
• Experience advising on strategic partnerships for tech products.
• Ability to move between product and transactional matters with ambiguity tolerance.

Responsibilities

• Counsel product and research teams with practical, business-aligned legal guidance.
• Draft, negotiate, and execute complex tech transactions and partnerships.
• Shape playbooks and processes for a scalable product legal function.
• Collaborate with product, research, engineering, finance, privacy, and outside counsel.
• Translate complex legal concepts into clear guidance for non-lawyers.
