Abridge, with offices in San Francisco and New York, seeks a Senior Product Counsel (Data Products, ML, and AI) to guide legal strategy for AI models and products. You will partner with product, compliance, and engineering teams to navigate frontier AI challenges, shaping how AI is deployed responsibly.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of legal experience, incl 4+ years counseling on AI/ML or emerging tech products.
• In-house experience required, with ability to operate in a fast-moving company.
• Ability to translate complex regulatory and technical AI concepts into practical guidance.
• Knowledge of IP and copyright in AI-generated content; training data rights.

Responsibilities

• Advise cross-functional teams on AI model and product development from a legal lens.
• Identify and mitigate AI-specific legal risks (model behavior, data provenance, liability).
• Develop flexible processes and contract language for frontier AI timelines.
• Represent positions to regulators, external counsel, and industry groups.
• Support privacy impact assessments and data governance for AI training and deployment.
• Collaborate on AI principles: transparency, accountability, human oversight.
