Abridge, a leader in AI-powered healthcare conversations, seeks an Associate GC to advise product teams on AI model development, data rights, and regulatory compliance. This hybrid role supports rapid frontier AI work across New York City or San Francisco, with in-office days Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of legal experience, including 6+ years counseling on AI, ML, or other emerging technology products.
• Prior in-house experience required.
• Ability to translate complex regulatory and technical AI concepts for non-legal, technical audiences.
• Experience with HIPAA and healthcare data privacy laws as applied to AI systems is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Serve as go-to counsel for teams building AI models and products, advising on legal issues spanning model development, data governance, and downstream clinical use.
• Identify and design practical mitigations for AI-specific legal risks including IP, data provenance, and liability for AI-generated content.
• Develop scalable legal processes and contract language to match frontier AI development pace.
• Advise on AI regulatory strategy and represent positions with external counsel, regulators, and industry groups as needed.
• Support privacy impact assessments, model risk assessments, and governance frameworks specific to AI training and deployment.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on AI principles like transparency, accountability, and human oversight.
