Job summary

Blue Bird Corporation in the United States seeks a Senior Product Configuration Engineer to own the engineering product structure for a next-generation chassis platform. You will serve as the technical authority for EBOM/MBOM, configuration governance, and release management across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and external partners.

You will develop scalable data structures, drive configuration processes, and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate digital definitions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial/Systems Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in configurable products, engineering configuration management, or vehicle development.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident; authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Own the engineering product structure, configuration strategy, and digital product definition for the platform.
• Develop and maintain EBOM/MBOM and configurable BOM structures.
• Establish configuration management standards and release processes.
• Develop and maintain option logic, configuration rules, and dependencies.
• Evaluate ECOs/ECNs, ensuring integrity and manufacturing readiness.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and partners.
• Maintain alignment between PLM/ERP and manufacturing systems.
• Develop validation methods and configuration audits.
• Support prototype builds, launches and production by resolving issues.
• Drive improvements to configuration processes and data management.
• Operate in ambiguity and create structure where little exists.
