Job summary

Modular Mission Critical, part of M.C. Dean, is seeking a Senior Purchasing Agent to bolster our procurement for datacenter and critical infrastructure projects near Richmond, VA.

You will liaison between procurement and executive teams, lead bidding and supplier negotiations, and develop procurement plans for major programs while ensuring timely delivery. Travel to project sites as needed; strong MS Office and SharePoint skills required; Bachelor's degree plus 2 years experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Relevant Purchasing experience sourcing, negotiating contracts with OEMs, construction / specialty trade subcontractors and fabricators.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Functioning as a key liaison between the Procurement team and internal stakeholders including MC Dean’s Executive Team, Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing.
• Working closely with the core Program/Project teams to manage high visibility and high value programs, applying program/project management skills to assure the timely and efficient execution of MC Dean’s portfolio of projects.
• Procurement planning during the bidding phase; understanding contract specifications and bills of material; sourcing, identifying, and prequalifying vendors; developing comprehensive RFPs; analyzing quotes; negotiating and finalizing agreements; developing the Procurement Plan.
• Post award procurement planning and implementation on major projects and programs; transferring bid phase documents and knowledge to the project team; engaging with the project team on procurement planning & implementation; capturing and communicating market intelligence.
• Understanding, evaluating, and incorporating current market conditions into procurement plans, including pricing trends, lead times, best value opportunities, alternative products opportunities, evolving contract compliance requirements.
• Reading, understanding, and interpreting contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules.
• Traveling to project sites, manufacturers, and vendor as needed.
