Job summary

Worley is seeking a Buyer to manage purchasing activities for engineered and non-engineered materials, equipment, and services in Houston. You will identify suppliers, solicit quotations, and evaluate pricing and terms to support project objectives.

You will work with project teams to ensure materials are available when needed, maintain supplier communications, and uphold procurement policies across assignments. Strong analytical skills and experience with procurement systems are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in procurement, supply chain, business, engineering, or related field.
• Five or more years of purchasing/procurement experience.
• Experience identifying suppliers, requesting and evaluating quotations, negotiating terms.
• Ability to interpret purchasing requirements and technical specifications.
• Experience with procurement policies, systems, and controls in a project-driven environment.
• Understanding supplier evaluation, delivery requirements, and risk factors.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing activities for materials, equipment, and services.
• Identify and evaluate suppliers; solicit quotations and assess capability.
• Review quotations and evaluate pricing and terms; balance cost, quality, delivery, and technical requirements.
• Coordinate purchasing priorities with project teams and stakeholders.
• Interpret purchase requisitions, specifications, and scopes of supply.
• Maintain supplier communications and address issues promptly.
• Resolve procurement challenges and escalate significant risks.
• Maintain procurement records and correspondence.
• Apply procurement systems and workflows and troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, materials management, expediting, and quality.
• Promote responsible procurement with sustainability considerations.
• Identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency and supplier performance.
• Provide guidance to less experienced colleagues.
