Job summary

Northern Trust Corp in Chicago, IL is seeking a Senior Category Manager with a strong background in procurement and category management. You will develop enterprise-wide procurement practices, drive RFx processes, and negotiate contracts while ensuring regulatory compliance and supplier performance.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Business/Supply Chain/Finance, an MBA or equivalent, and 6+ years in sourcing or procurement, with expertise in Coupa/Workday/PeopleSoft and advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or Finance
• MBA or advanced degree and a professional Procurement/Supply Chain Management designation (e.g. CSCP, CPM) are a strong plus
• Six or more years’ experience in Sourcing or Procurement related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Responsibilities

• Develops procurement practices enterprise-wide, including category sourcing and strategies.
• Develops, implements and communicates a strategy to meet Business Unit and Corporation plans.
• Leads and manages RFx process from project management to award.
• Responsible for contract review, drafting and creation of NDAs and Master Agreements; negotiates terms.
• Maintains procurement processes and procedures; monitors compliance and reporting.
• Supports supplier performance reviews, scorecards, and supplier rationalization.
• Interacts with partners to implement strategy and improve services and processes.
