Job summary

Proteinea in Coffeyville, KS seeks a Senior Procurement Mechanical Engineer to lead procurement of mechanical materials, equipment, and subcontracted services.

You will review technical specs, prepare RFQs, evaluate bids, negotiate terms, and coordinate with engineering, projects, and finance teams to ensure on-time delivery and cost efficiency. Strong vendor management and ERP skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5–8 years of experience in procurement of mechanical/electrical materials.
• Experience in technical and commercial bid evaluation.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Good understanding of contracts and procurement procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement activities for Mechanical materials and equipment.
• Review technical specifications, BOQs, and project requirements.
• Prepare RFQs, analyze quotations, and conduct technical & commercial evaluations.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, and contracts with suppliers.
• Coordinate with engineering, projects, and finance teams.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications and company standards.
• Monitor supplier performance and delivery timelines.
• Maintain cost efficiency and support value engineering initiatives.
• Develop and maintain a strong supplier database.
