Job summary

Versant Power in Maine seeks a Manager, Procurement to lead the procurement function, oversee policy and contract management, and manage procurement personnel. The role partners with operations to mitigate risk and drive best practices in sourcing and supplier relations.

The position requires strategic analysis, strong leadership, and the ability to drive cost reductions across materials and services, while maintaining safety and reliability expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of relevant experience.
• Industry certifications in purchasing / supply management preferred.
• Three years of supervisory experience required.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint; purchasing software knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and mentor a team of buyers, training procurement personnel.
• Align strategies and practices with company policies while ensuring cost efficiency.
• Provide strategic analysis using market data and benchmarking.
• Lead RFI/RFP/RFQ processes and supplier performance management.
• Coordinate with audits, finance, legal, and other stakeholders.
