Job summary

Audubon is seeking a Process Safety Associate III to join our Metairie, LA office. The role focuses on delivering process safety consulting across oil, petrochemical, and refining industries, including PHA/LOPA facilitation, risk assessments, and fire protection system design.

The candidate should have a strong background in engineering, 10+ years of experience, and familiarity with PHA Pro and ABS Leader software. Occasional travel to client sites and proposal support are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• ABET Accredited Institution preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Fire Protection & Safety Engineering preferred.
• Professional Engineering Certification Preferred.
• Certificate of completion of HAZOP/LOPA Facilitator Training required.
• 10+ years industry experience preferred, including leadership of at least 10 PHA studies.
• Experience with PHA Pro software strongly preferred. ABS Leader a plus.
• Working knowledge of codes (API, etc.) and Process Safety Regulations preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including public speaking to groups of up to 30 professionals.

Responsibilities

• Lead/facilitate Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) meetings, including HAZOP/LOPA studies, with high-quality documentation.
• Provide guidance on Process Safety regulations to clients and project teams.
• Analyze engineering documents to identify and mitigate safety hazards.
• Travel to customer sites and perform field inspections as needed.
• Assist in business development and technical proposals for Process Safety Group.
• Interact with clients, subcontractors, vendors and consultants with clear communication.
• Adhere to HSSE standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provide PSM/RMP compliance auditing and risk assessment support.
• Contribute to Fire Protection System design and safety engineering advice.
• Participate in hazard identification programs and report unsafe acts.
