Job summary

Bechtel Corporation in Houston, TX is seeking a Process Safety Engineer to provide senior-level technical leadership for process safety deliverables and risk management. This part-time telework role requires a minimum of three days per week in the office.

The ideal candidate has at least 8 years of process safety experience and a recognized engineering degree. Key responsibilities include leading HAZIDs and LOPAs, developing safety reports, and coordinating safety-critical design within project execution.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant process safety experience.
• Commitment to achieving Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Prior experience in semiconductor, pharma, or data center projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead HAZIDs, HAZOPs, and LOPA reviews.
• Develop and maintain process safety deliverables.
• Coordinate with engineering on safety-critical design inputs.
• Review third-party risk assessment studies.
• Support preparation of the Safety Case for major hazard facilities.

Skills

Professional Engineer (PE) license

Specialist knowledge in HAZOP/LOPA

Strong understanding of engineering principles

Familiarity with OSHA PSM, EPA RMP

Education

Recognized degree in Engineering
