Job summary

Buckeye Partners is seeking a Senior Specialist, Process Safety to implement PSM programs for the Engineering and Construction Group and domestic pipelines and terminals. The role can be located at Buckeye assets, with a preference for Houston, Allentown, East Chicago, Port Reading, or Tampa.

The position requires 3–10 years in petrochemical safety, hands-on use of Apollo PHA/HAZOP/HAZID and QRA, and up to 30% travel. Strong communication and leadership are essential to drive safety improvements.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Health and Safety or advanced degree.
• 3–10 years’ experience in Petrochemical/oil & gas with risk assessment and hazard management.
• Experience with Apollo PHA, HAZOP, HAZID or QRA.

Responsibilities

• Asset Maintenance Plan development with Operations and E&C groups.
• Identify, assess and document HSSE risk reduction strategies for significant hazards.
• Plan, organize, and lead assessments such as HAZOP, PHA, MOC and site studies.
• Support Process Safety Management, drive site projects for inspections and hazard assessments.
• Train and mentor staff on procedures.
• Audit and enforce compliance with procedures.
