Job summary

Brown and Caldwell seeks a Senior Process Mechanical Design professional to develop detailed piping layouts and equipment arrangements using Revit and AutoCAD for municipal and industrial projects.

You will coordinate P&IDs, schedules, and cross-discipline model coordination, lead design reviews, and mentor junior staff while delivering high-quality designs through project design gates.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of process mech design or related experience.
• Demonstrated experience in detailed mechanical layout designs and piping specification coordination.
• Proven track record in P&ID Coordination and Cross-Discipline Model Coordination/Clash resolution.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed mechanical equipment layout designs and piping specification coordination with advanced proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD.
• Undertake challenging assignments independently, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of mechanical piping design.
• Develop mechanical/piping drawings at project design gates/milestones.
• Demonstrate coordination skills in managing P&ID coordination and cross-discipline model coordination/clash resolution.
• Provide advanced technical support, solving production and equipment issues with minimal supervision.

The Senior Process MechanicalDesign rolewill oversee the development of process mechanical piping designs and equipment layouts using Revit and AutoCAD.The rolewill coordinate P&IDs and piping specifications, ensuring that designs are accurate and meet project requirements.Thepositionwill involve cross-discipline model coordination and clash resolution, ensuring that designs are integrated seamlessly.The rolewill develop detailed process mechanical and piping drawings, ensuring they meet the required level of detail at project design gates and milestones. Additionally,thepositionwill be responsible for valve and equipment scheduling, ensuring all components are accurately documented and scheduled.The rolewill alsohelplead the team in implementing best practices and innovative solutions to improve design efficiency and quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed mechanical equipment layout designs and piping specification coordination with advanced proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD.
• Undertake challenging assignments independently, demonstrating a comprehensive understandingofmechanical piping design.

• Demonstrate excellent coordination skills in managing P&IDcoordination andcross-disciplinemodelcoordination/clash resolution.
• Foster professional development by leveraging knowledge and skills to devise innovative techniques or approaches.
• Provide advanced technical support, solving a range of production and equipment issues with minimal supervision.
• Act as a team lead or coordinator on occasion, while also performing as an individual contributor.
• Flexibility to adapt and execute various additional assignments based on evolving needs.
• May provide mentorship, guidance, support, and knowledge-sharing to help less experienced team members develop their skills and grow within their roles.

Skills and Competencies

• Advancedin utilizing Revit/AutoCAD for design purposes.
• Advanced skill setin process mechanical piping design and process mechanical equipment layout.
• Advanced skillsin coordinatingP&ID and piping specifications.
• Extensiveunderstanding of level of detail at project design gates/milestones.

Experience

• Typically requires a minimum of6years ofprocess mech designor related experience.
• Demonstrated experience in detailed mechanical layout designs and piping specification coordination.
• Proven track record in P&ID Coordination and Cross-Discipline Model Coordination/Clash resolution.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• 8+ years of experience in municipal and/or industrial projects (water and/or wastewater treatment plant experience preferred)
• Experience with Microstation, in addition to Revit and AutoCAD

Education

• An associate’s degree in mechanical engineering technology or related field or equivalent experience is required.

Salary Range:Theanticipatedstarting payrange for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and maybemore or lessdependingupon skills, experience,and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A: $34.10 - $46.20
Location B: $37.50 - $51.00
Location C: $40.80 - $55.30
