Job summary

Sand Cherry Associates is seeking an experienced Business Process Consultant for an 8-week engagement. The role focuses on current-state assessments across Operations, O2C, and P2P, documenting end-to-end processes, and identifying gaps with actionable recommendations.

Travel up to 25% and US-based work authorization required. The consultant will lead workshops, map processes with swim lanes, review controls, and develop a prioritized roadmap of improvements to drive cross-functional efficiency

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in business process engineering, management consulting, or operational transformation.
• Strong experience mapping current-state processes with swim lane diagrams.
• Excellent workshop facilitation and stakeholder interviewing skills.
• Ability to translate qualitative and quantitative findings into actionable recommendations.
• Experience working across Finance, Operations, Procurement, and Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery sessions, workshops, and interviews with key stakeholders, process owners, and subject matter experts.
• Observe and document how processes are currently performed across Operations, Order to Cash (O2C), and Procure to Pay (P2P).
• Develop detailed current-state process maps using swim lane methodology to illustrate activities, ownership, handoffs, decision points, systems, and dependencies.
• Document roles and responsibilities across each process.
• Assess key systems, data flows, reports, controls, and process handoffs.
• Review existing process documentation, procedures, controls, reports, and supporting materials.
• Identify manual activities, process bottlenecks, unnecessary handoffs, redundancies, and areas of process complexity.
• Identify process gaps, operational inefficiencies, risks, and control weaknesses.
• Evaluate opportunities to simplify, standardize, streamline, or redesign processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve cross-functional coordination, process ownership, controls, data flow, and operational visibility.
• Develop an inventory of process improvement opportunities across the assessed functions.
• Categorize opportunities into quick wins and longer-term initiatives.
• Assess the potential business impact of recommended improvements.
• Prioritize recommendations based on factors such as business value, risk, complexity, and implementation considerations.
• Translate assessment findings into clear, actionable recommendations for business and leadership stakeholders.
• Develop a prioritized process improvement roadmap outlining recommended initiatives and sequencing.
• Clearly communicate the rationale, expected impact, dependencies, and considerations associated with proposed improvements.
