What You Will Do

The Senior Process Improvement Consultant will lead stakeholder engagement and technical delivery for efforts supporting federal agencies with IT controls assessments and program evaluations. This role is ideal for someone with an information security, assurance, or IT audit background who wants to work with the federal government to analyze IT control weaknesses, identify root causes, and develop remediation plans.

Responsibilities Include

• Performing assessments of IT controls using industry-standard guidance and best practices.
• Conducting interviews with client stakeholders, including ISSOs and system administrators.
• Reviewing documents like security plans, SOPs, audit logs, configuration scans, and vulnerability scans.
• Evaluating the effectiveness of IT controls against federal requirements and industry guidance.
• Documenting IT controls testing results clearly for review.
• Communicating assessment results to stakeholders, including senior leadership.
• Analyzing IT control weaknesses, identifying root causes, and developing remediation plans.
• Providing expertise on IT security and assurance matters.
• Responding to ad-hoc IT security requests.
• Planning and executing IT assessments, mentoring junior team members.

What You Will Need

• Active and current Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Technical field.
• At least three years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, or information assurance.
• Experience consulting with federal agencies, including senior clients.
• Knowledge of federal information security laws, requirements, and guidance.

Nice to Have

• Certifications like CISA or CISM.
• Experience in IT audits, controls assessments, or security reviews.
• Knowledge of FISMA, NIST SP 800 series, FISCAM, and related laws.
• Experience with internal control assessments, access management, contingency planning, configuration management, and audit logging.
