Senior Process Engineering Manager – PSM & Operations

Job summary

TPC Group is seeking a Production and Process Improvement Engineering leader in Houston to align with established work processes, drive KPI-based improvements, and support capital projects.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain and Commercial teams, and uphold EHS&S performance and PSM compliance in a fast-paced petrochemical setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering with 8+ years in chemicals/refining/petrochemical environments.
• Minimum 3 years of supervision of technical or operating staff.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience with PSM 1910.119 and EPA RMP and its application to manufacturing.
• Experience with process historian and data monitoring tools such as IP21, OSI PI, or SEEQ.
• Experience with Aspen+ or similar process modeling tools.
• Knowledge of PHA, MOC and PSM compliance metrics.
• Knowledge of Process Safety design concepts and documentation requirements and their application.
• Experience with Capital Project development and execution, including FEL and Stage Gate concepts.

Responsibilities

• Ensures alignment with established work processes & deliverables across operations, engineering, and capital programs.
• Drives metric review and action plans for optimal operation of process units on various cadences.
• Oversee the development and utilization of operating KPIs to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient production.
• Leads, mentors, and develops Production and Process Improvement Engineers, providing technical guidance.
• Coordinates with Department Managers to utilize support resources across site-wide initiatives.
• Collaborate with Operations, Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain and Commercial teams to meet objectives.
• Supports best-in-class EHS&S performance through ownership of key PSM elements.
• Champions the TPC culture as a role model for values.
• Ensures team members provide prompt support as technical experts for time-sensitive work.
