Job summary

Ashland in Calvert City, Kentucky is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to join our ISP Technologies business. The role is a highly visible position within the Specialty Chemicals Production function and reports to the Operations Manager.

You will work with Operations, Process Operators, Engineers, Supervisors, and site staff to optimize batch production, improve yields and product quality, and help develop, implement, and improve process control systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 1-5 years in chemical manufacturing environment; Co-ops/intern experience counts.
• Must be able to respond during site emergencies as directed by the Site Emergency Manager.
• Must evacuate manufacturing areas promptly during emergencies.
• Must wear PPE as required in the manufacturing areas.

Responsibilities

• Reviews daily operation of batch production areas and performs process troubleshooting.
• Collect and analyze data for process optimization to maintain and improve quality/yields and to detect problems that may result in reduced rates and product quality non-compliance.
• Work with Operations Manager and other Production staff on continuous improvement efforts.
• Develop, implement, and improve process control systems with the plant team.
• Collaborate with R&D/Pilot Plant on new products.
• Perform other related duties to ensure efficient functioning of the department.
