Job summary

Graphenix Development Inc. in Rochester, NY seeks a Senior Process Engineer to own silicon anode deposition development, scale-up to pilot and manufacturing, and transfer processes from R&D to production.

You will work hands-on across R&D, equipment development, facility support, and manufacturing, driving robust, scalable deposition platforms. The role requires 5+ years in thin-film processing (PECVD/CVD/ALD), a related advanced degree, and proven ability to deliver repeatable processes.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or M.S. in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in process engineering, materials development, or thin-film processing.
• Strong expertise in thin-film deposition technologies (PECVD, CVD, ALD, or related processes).
• Demonstrated experience scaling advanced materials processes from R&D to pilot or manufacturing environments.
• Experience with experimental design (DOE) and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and optimization of silicon anode deposition processes (PECVD or related).
• Define scalable process architectures to transition from R&D to pilot/manufacturing systems.
• Develop process recipes, operating windows, and key parameters for silicon deposition.
• Support design, installation, commissioning, and qualification of R2R deposition equipment.
• Collaborate with vendors and engineering partners to create scalable process platforms.
• Implement process controls to ensure reproducibility and manufacturing readiness.
• Work with cell engineering teams to integrate silicon anodes into battery architectures.
• Support equipment installation, commissioning, and day-to-day manufacturing activities.
• Troubleshoot process issues and support continuous improvement toward production.
• Maintain process documentation and specifications for scale-up.
