Job summary

Lam Research in the Global Products Group designs etch and deposition equipment and drives innovation in semiconductor processing. As a Process Engineer, you’ll develop new process formulations, define hardware to meet requirements, and evaluate data to ensure processing compatibility across tools and processes.

You’ll lead development, analyze test results, and work with cross-functional teams and customers to translate roadmaps into actionable process improvements onboard Lam equipment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics with 8+ years experience; or a PhD with 5+ years' experience.
• Familiarity with semiconductor equipment, surface preparation and analytical techniques.
• Strong MATLAB or Python proficiency; SPC/DOE understanding; experience with JMP/Minitab or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct process engineering R&D and evaluation for Lam's semiconductor equipment and systems.
• Review and improve processing techniques used in manufacture and fabrication of products.
• Develop and sustain new processes to reduce costs and increase yields.
• Analyze test data to define next steps and process specifications.
• Collaborate to plan data collection and report on customer demos for existing processes.
• Partner with customers to understand roadmaps and business challenges.
