Job summary

Montauk Renewables in Turkey, NC is seeking a Process Engineer to support ongoing operations and new development projects. You will develop heat and material balances, create PFDs and P&IDs, specify equipment, and scale lab data to commercial designs.

The role requires 8–15 years of process engineering and leadership, a relevant engineering degree, and a PE license is preferred. Travel is 25–50% for US-based assignments, with proven communication and team-lead capabilities essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
• Graduate Degree a plus.
• Professional Engineering license preferred.
• 8-15 years engineering and leadership experience in a related environment.
• Previous new facility design experience preferred.
• Knowledge of production or process engineering.
• Experience with gas dehydration, decontamination, and separation processing and distribution, batch and continuous processing operations, and/or corrosive/toxic chemicals a plus.
• Previous operations and maintenance experience a plus.
• Familiar with process equipment including pumps, coolers, piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, compressors, valves, instrumentation, PLCs, VFDs.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams and mentor engineers.
• Develop heat and material balance and PFDs.
• Specify equipment and develop Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.
• Develop manufacturing costs.
• Scale-up field and lab data to commercial design.
• Carry out process improvement at existing facilities.
• Assist with SOP and training material development and plant startup.
