Placements24 is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to oversee and optimize operations at a major petrochemical facility in Welkom. The role focuses on troubleshooting, implementing process improvements, and ensuring safe, compliant operation of complex chemical processes.

The candidate should have deep chemical engineering expertise, 8+ years in petrochemical/refinery operations, and hands-on experience with Aspen Plus or HYSYS. A strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 8 years of process engineering experience in petrochemical or refinery operations.
Experience with Aspen Plus or HYSYS and process control systems.
Strong knowledge of unit operations, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and reaction kinetics.

Responsibilities

Monitor and optimize plant performance data for efficiency improvements.
Troubleshoot operations and perform root cause analyses for recurring issues.
Design and implement process modifications to improve safety and yield.
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and policies.
Develop and update SOPs and train operators and junior engineers.
Lead or participate in PHAs and PSSRs.
