Placements24 is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to join their Welkom-based operations. The role focuses on optimizing existing chemical processes, ensuring safety and environmental compliance, and supporting capital projects in collaboration with plant operations and maintenance teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, experience in process optimization, and the ability to troubleshoot production issues in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
• At least 4 years of experience in a chemical plant or similar industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of process optimization techniques and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Familiarity with process safety management (PSM) principles.
• Excellent analytical skills and proficiency with data analysis tools.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a plant-based team.

Responsibilities

• Analyze process data to identify opportunities for yield improvement and cost reduction.
• Develop and implement process modifications to enhance efficiency and product quality.
• Troubleshoot operational problems and provide timely solutions to minimize downtime.
• Ensure all processes comply with safety regulations and environmental permits.
• Assist in the design and commissioning of new equipment and process units.
• Prepare process documentation, including operating procedures and P&IDs.
