Job summary

Olsson is seeking a Process Engineer to join its Industrial team in the United States. You will plan, design, and optimize industrial processes across agricultural processing, ethanol, food and beverage, renewable fuels, manufacturing, chemical, and related markets.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions for greenfield and brownfield projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Mechanical/related engineering.
• Minimum of 5+ years of industrial process engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with industrial process design, equipment selection, and process optimization.
• Knowledge of process safety principles and hygienic design.

Responsibilities

• Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Perform mass & energy balances, hydraulic calculations, and equipment sizing.
• Design and evaluate industrial process systems including piping, heat transfer, utilities, and material handling.
• Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline engineers to deliver integrated project solutions.
• Support facility planning, process optimization, debottlenecking, and operational improvements.
• Participate in process hazard reviews, safety evaluations, and risk assessments.
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource coordination.
• Conduct field investigations, startup support, and commissioning activities.
• Collaborate with clients to understand goals and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Review vendor drawings and submittals for technical compliance.
• Support business development through proposals and client meetings.
• Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge.
