Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Lead Process Engineer in Charlotte, NC to lead process engineering for fluidized bed boiler and gasification projects, including Balance of Plant tasks. The role includes defining technical concepts, assessing equipment capacities, and preparing robust proposals with 25% site work or travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar manufacturing business or supplier.

Responsibilities

• Performing calculations for process systems and equipment.
• Preparing technical specifications for equipment inquiries.
• Conducting design work for process systems.
• Leading hazard and risk analyses.
• Providing theoretical training to the customer’s operators.
• Providing support to the commissioning team during site activities.
• Managing communication and documentation.
