Job summary

Flint Group in Asheville, NC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to drive design, analysis and reliability across boilers, water systems, HVAC, and processes. You will lead capital projects, perform CAD-based modifications, and collaborate with operations and SHE.

Candidates should hold a BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field, be proficient with CAD tools (AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks), and possess strong troubleshooting and communication skills to support maintenance and energy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technology; CAD tools proficiency required.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and project-management skills.
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, DraftSight, Inventor, SolidWorks).
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead boilers, steam systems optimization and energy efficiency initiatives.
• Develop mechanical designs and perform stress/thermal analyses.
• Manage small-to-medium capital projects from concept to commissioning.
• Provide troubleshooting for pumps, heat exchangers, piping, and rotating equipment.
• Coordinate with maintenance, SHE, and operations to improve reliability.
• Prepare scopes of work and contractor bid packages; FAT may be required.
