Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Co. is seeking a Senior Process Engineer for the Technical Services Organization in New Orleans. This role drives high-performance culture, coaches floor technicians, and partners with plant leadership to realize the master plan with a strong focus on troubleshooting and optimization.

You will lead coffee processing improvements, manage cross-functional projects, and act as a liaison between R&D and the plant. On-site work required with up to ~20% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Food Science.
• 2+ years of Engineering, Operations, R&D and/or TSO experience.
• Ability to define problems, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Willingness to travel ~20% and work on-site at the New Orleans plant.

Responsibilities

• Understand coffee processing fundamentals and apply to troubleshooting and improvements.
• Develop and implement engineering designs for drying, roasting, grinding, and transport to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Lead projects and build consensus across functions as project team leader.
• Act as Technical Readiness Leader for new product initiatives.
• Create test plans, execute, and report results; manage project scope and risk.
• Coordinate vendor testing, commissioning, and validation of equipment.
• Apply analysis to assess financial and operational impact of initiatives.
