Job summary

Bolthouse Farms is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to lead hands-on manufacturing engineering efforts in Bakersfield. The role aims to improve stability, repeatability, throughput, yield, quality and cost performance of processing systems while partnering with Operations, Maintenance, Quality/Food Safety, Engineering, and OEM/vendor resources.

You will translate process needs into automation and control solutions, work with a Controls Engineer to develop requirements, troubleshoot PLC/HMI

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Food Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 7 years of process/manufacturing engineering experience in food/beverage/analogous industries.
Experience with automated process systems and working with controls/automation personnel.

Responsibilities

Provide daily floor-level technical support for beverage processing systems (thermal, aseptic, blending, transfer).
Lead senior technical process ownership for assigned systems and drive cross-functional actions.
Troubleshoot process issues by evaluating temperatures, pressures, flow, levels, and control sequences.
Lead root-cause analyses of downtime and process instability; implement corrective actions.
Analyze OEE, downtime, and process variables to set improvement priorities.
Develop and maintain process diagrams, narratives, and technical requirements for changes.
Work with Controls Engineer to review logic, plan programming changes, and validate in production.
Support commissioning, startup, qualification, and performance verification of changes and new equipment.
