Job summary

Dymax, part of the Bachmann Chemical & Engineering family, based in Torrington, CT, seeks a Sr. Process Engineer to develop and implement manufacturing processes, SOPs, and equipment through scale-up and root-cause analysis, while focusing on cost reductions in labor, materials, and overhead.

Lead new product innovation and prototype design within chemical manufacturing. You will guide cross-functional teams across Production, R&D and Quality, train operators, validate processes, drive change

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing including new product development.
• 10+ years chemical process engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or equivalency is required; Master’s/PhD preferred.
• Credentials in continuous improvement management a plus.
• Proficiency in enterprise software required, JD Edwards E-1 desirable.
• Hands-on shop floor as well as computer work in a manufacturing plant environment.
• ISO policies compliance and Quality Management System adherence.

Responsibilities

• Maximize production efficiencies by assessing product specs, documentation, and quality standards.
• Introduce new products and manage high-growth market launches with NPIs and scale-up processes.
• Lead best-practices adoption and optimize mixing and dispersion science.
• Train colleagues and operators, improve SOPs and work instructions, and manage change control docs.
• Execute process validation protocols and optimize production parameters and controls.
• Resolve customer complaints using root cause analysis and implement process improvements.
• Conduct PFMEAs and drive continuous improvements in manufacturing quality.
