Job Title: Process Engineer

Responsibilities:

1. Design process flow sheets with sufficient detail for engineering development of piping and instrumentation diagrams for all capital projects.
2. Review process design and project objectives with Project and Automation teams to communicate operational issues and provide processing insights.
3. Generate operating, startup, and shutdown procedures for new or existing process equipment. Attend project meetings for commissioning new installations.
4. Troubleshoot existing installations to resolve problems limiting production.
5. Evaluate new process equipment and develop products as they are introduced into the plant, for both existing and new products.
6. Maintain strong relationships with the Maintenance team to review systems and data, developing preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to improve equipment availability.
7. Solicit equipment quotations as needed for Capital Asset Requests.
8. Promote safe work practices with a focus on good housekeeping.
9. Be aware of environmental impacts and take corrective actions as necessary, notifying appropriate personnel.
10. Present projects to management and customers (internal and external) for training, sales, or issue persuasion.
11. Stay current with the latest production techniques relevant to Omya and the industry, especially for emerging production lines.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with at least 7+ years of engineering experience or equivalent.
• Previous mineral processing experience and project engineering experience preferred.
• Hands-on work ethic to troubleshoot and operate equipment.
• Proficiency with computer systems related to this role.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle frequent interruptions, prioritize tasks, and focus on complex problems while serving various organizational levels.
• Ability to spend approximately 50% of time walking or standing in a multi-level facility, with exposure to noise, dust, and extreme conditions.
• Must have current US employment authorization; sponsorship is not available.
