Job summary

Kulicke & Soffa is seeking a Process Engineer to drive concepts through to mass production readiness. You will define system architectures with Product Managers and collaborate with the System Engineering team to turn ideas into actionable project plans.

Ideal candidates bring 12+ years of R&D or product engineering experience in semiconductor equipment, strong modeling skills, hands-on testing, and leadership for cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Above 12 years of experience in R&D or Product Engineering, Semiconductor equipment experience is must
• Proficient in Visual Basic, MS Excel, MATLAB, Python, and Mathcad for modeling
• Experience with solid modeling CAD software is preferred

Responsibilities

• Creates new projects from a broad and multidisciplinary architectural viewpoint
• Conceptualizing the required components
• Oversees the entire system aspects and manages unavoidable tradeoffs
• Delivers a complete and complex framework, system or product
• Defines processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility
• Conceives system interfaces and business application prototypes
• Identifies, analyzes and resolves system design weaknesses
• Provides multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives
• Support on tasks such as: part failure analysis & generate report

As a Process Engineer you will be involved from proof of concept to mass production readiness. You will be able to define the architecture of the system concepts based on the core starting points, ideas and market opportunities in collaboration with Product Managers. Together with the System engineering team transforming concepts into actual project plans.

Qualifications

Knowledge & Experience requirements

• Above 12 years of experience in R&D or Product Engineering, Semiconductor equipment experience is must
• Wide-ranging experience with mechanical and mathematical modeling tools (Visual Basic, MS Excel, MATLAB, Python, Mathcad)
• Wide-ranging hands-on experience – test set-up, troubleshooting, design of experiments, lab equipment, etc. (for example using test equipment such as laser displacement, thermal sensor, accelerometers)
• Able to solve significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles
• Experience with solid modeling CAD software is preferred

Education Requirements

• Bachelor/ Master/ PhD’s degree in Mechanical engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent, master or above is preferred

• Flexible to changes in tasks and work environment
• Must be organized, systematic, punctual, and goal-oriented
• Strong leadership skill with ability to work with cross functional teams
