Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field required, Plastic Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Plastic Processing is essential.
  • Six Sigma certification is a strong plus.

Job description

Overview

Stryten Energy, a growing team of 2,500 willing and fearless listeners, learners, and problem solvers works to meet the increasing demand for reliable energy storage technologies. Stryten uses a proven plastic injection molding methodology to produce critical automotive, motive and essential power battery components.

Self-starter with excellent management, problem solving, communication and project management skills. Must be able to effectively organize, direct and control all aspects of processing shift operations with emphasis on safety, budgeting, team building and department training. Work effectively with engineering and all other departments to ensure that processing projects are timely which relate to the elimination of recurring processing issues, continuous improvement, and quick changeover and set-up reductions.


Responsibilities

  • Properly organize, direct and control skilled labor in the areas of processing and safety training.
  • Implement and sustain the elimination of processing issues.
  • Meet budget requirements with regard to manning and other department costs.
  • Hands- on approach required at times in assisting processors at meeting changeover deadlines.
  • Identify opportunities that ultimately reduce cycle time and downtime.
  • Comply with all Quality Systems requirements.
  • Follow Lean Manufacturing procedures.
  • Perform other duties and projects assigned by the Engineering Manager.
  • Maintaining and storage of processing documents in an easily accessible area.
  • Comply with all plant EHS and personnel policies.
  • Additional responsibilities as neededto support the team and company goals.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related field required, Plastic Engineering preferred.
  • Will consider a minimum of 5 years experience in the field of Plastic Processing.
  • Six Sigma certification is a strong plus

  • Use of various hand and power tools and torch.
  • Ability to lead others and assist with employee development
  • Interest in and experience with problem-solving of a Manufacturing Engineering nature.
  • Project Management and team leader skills.
  • Self-motivated, can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize with changing situations.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to drive tasks to completion.
  • Able to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate accurately and comfortably with all levels of management.
  • Ability to follow all environmental, health and safety procedure
  • Proven satisfactory work history (attendance and performance). This must be maintained. Attendance is critical to this position.

Environment & Physical Demands

  • This position requires you to be on site at our Columbus, IN facility.
  • Occasional standing, sitting, walking, bending and twisting.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and assist in moving molds to and from the production floor safely.
  • Must be able to work in high places, in between press plates, and be able to work in any weather conditions to support production.
