Job Summary
Responsible for processes and project engineering in support of manufacturing plants. Plans and designs manufacturing processes for a chemical production facility.
Essential Job Functions
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Maximize efficiency through optimization of equipment layout, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilization.
- Contribute to strategic projects by providing information and recommendations, and complete action plans.
- Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment in collaboration with vendors.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes through research, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, and consulting with operators and vendors.
- Plan and evaluate project activities to achieve objectives.
- Analyze assembly, fabrication, machining, and other processes.
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Conduct time and cost analyses of processes.
- Determine parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed to meet manufacturing goals according to product specifications.
- Maintain and develop process control programming logic to support manufacturing.
- Oversee capital investments and equipment installation.
- Support complex project details and aspects.
- Assist in preventative maintenance programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Educational and Skills Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering.
- 8-10 years of direct engineering experience in manufacturing specialty chemicals and gases.
- Background in controls and development.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines; both autonomous and collaborative work styles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CAD, and related software.
- Understanding and compliance with safety rules and company policies.
