Job Summary

Responsible for processes and project engineering in support of manufacturing plants. Plans and designs manufacturing processes for a chemical production facility.

Essential Job Functions

1. Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
2. Maximize efficiency through optimization of equipment layout, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilization.
3. Contribute to strategic projects by providing information and recommendations, and complete action plans.
4. Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment in collaboration with vendors.
5. Evaluate manufacturing processes through research, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, and consulting with operators and vendors.
6. Plan and evaluate project activities to achieve objectives.
7. Analyze assembly, fabrication, machining, and other processes.
8. Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
9. Conduct time and cost analyses of processes.
10. Determine parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed to meet manufacturing goals according to product specifications.
11. Maintain and develop process control programming logic to support manufacturing.
12. Oversee capital investments and equipment installation.
13. Support complex project details and aspects.
14. Assist in preventative maintenance programs.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Educational and Skills Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering.
• 8-10 years of direct engineering experience in manufacturing specialty chemicals and gases.
• Background in controls and development.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines; both autonomous and collaborative work styles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CAD, and related software.
• Understanding and compliance with safety rules and company policies.
