Job summary

Marathon Petroleum’s Illinois Refining Division in Robinson, IL seeks a Process Design Engineer III/Senior Process Design Engineer to drive refinery and organizational process optimization. You will develop projects to improve throughput, yields, reliability, and energy or water use, mentoring others and leading safety reviews.

Requires a chemical engineering degree and 4+ years in refining, with relocation approved. Multiple schedule options and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

Bachelors in chemical engineering is required.
Four (4) years of process engineering experience in refining or heavy industry preferred.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Contributes to refinery/organizational long-term strategy, throughput and energy optimization.
Develops process designs for projects and unit modifications including PFDs, P&IDs, and heat/material balances.
Performs simulations and calculations for equipment sizing, hydraulic analysis, and energy optimization; leads economic analyses.
