Job summary

Weidmann Electrical Technology, Inc. in Middletown, OH seeks a seasoned Process Controls Engineer to design, program, implement, and optimize industrial control systems for our continuous board manufacturing equipment.

You will serve as the technical expert for control systems and provide 24/7 production support. The role requires a strong background in ABB DCS, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, HMI/SCADA, and instrumentation, with leadership and project management experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Automation, Industrial Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related technical field required.
10+ years of experience in industrial automation, process controls, or manufacturing systems; paper manufacturing experience preferred.
8+ years leading and providing technical training and mentoring skills.
Proven experience managing and leading technical teams, with strong capabilities in project management and resource planning.
Extensive programming and engineering proficiency in ABB DCS, Siemens, Allen Bradley, HMI/SCADA systems, industrial networking, and instrumentation.
Demonstrated project management skills including new equipment install, start-up to commissioning; capital projects and automation/continuous improvement projects. Project Management certification a plus.
Excellent communication, analytical problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects while supporting a 24/7 manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

Design, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC, DCS, HMI, SCADA systems for 24/7 manufacturing.
Lead control system upgrades, machine automation, capital projects and CI initiatives.
Provide on-call technical support and collaborate with Operations/Maintenance to resolve issues.
Ensure OSHA/electrical/environmental/cybersecurity compliance and proper documentation.
Direct and develop engineers/technicians; coordinate work and contractors across teams.
