Job summary

Wunderlich-Malec Engineering, Inc. in Boise, ID seeks an Associate Controls Engineer to deliver process control systems and support startup activities. You will design hardware, network layouts, and instrumentation, with focus on PCS 7 environments.

Ideal candidates have 2–5+ years in Siemens PCS 7, DCS/PLC/SCADA/HMI programming, and strong documentation skills. Travel up to 25% and collaboration with cross-functional teams are expected.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Engineering (preference for Electrical/Controls, Chemical or Mechanical).
• 2-5+ years hands-on Siemens SIMATIC PCS 7 experience.
• Proficiency with CFC and SFC engineering in PCS 7.
• Experience with AS 410/S7-400H high-availability controllers.
• Knowledge of PROFIBUS PA/DP and PROFINET networks.
• Experience with PCS 7 OS/WinCC operator systems.
• Strong troubleshooting under live-process conditions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver process control systems including DCS/PLC/SCADA/HMI programming, hardware designs, and network architecture design.
• Provide status reporting to project manager and identify risks to schedule.
• Identify opportunities to build client relationships and assist in proposals.
• Create project documentation such as requirements, architecture, tests, and training.
• Collaborate with and learn from lead engineer to design, develop, and startup control systems.
