Job summary

Air Products seeks a Process Controls Engineer to support DCS/PLC automation and instrumentation at our North American facilities, with options to base out of Allentown, PA or LaPorte, TX.

The role involves collaboration with operating facilities to keep Oxygen, Nitrogen, Helium, Carbon Dioxide and Hydrogen production safe and reliable, while supporting 24/7/365 operations and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Experience in process automation systems and instrumentation.
• Hands-on knowledge of automation systems, control panels and field instrumentation.
• Strong communication skills for investigating, troubleshooting and presenting technical information to other engineering teams and site operations teams.
• This role is a Safety Sensitive Position. Pass pre-employment and random drug tests.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the instrumentation and process control system needs of North and South American facilities that supply Oxygen, Nitrogen, Helium, Carbon Dioxide and Hydrogen.
• Troubleshooting urgent operational needs for remote facilities; from Process Instrumentation to DCS and PLC logic; to Engineering and Operator Control Stations.
• Safely implementing improvement projects with multi-disciplinary teams; supporting maintenance outages and upgrades.
• Supporting the improvement and optimization of existing assets, addressing obsolescence and meeting safety and performance goals.
