Job summary

Air Products is seeking a Process Controls Engineer to support instrumentation and control systems for gas facilities in North and South America. The role involves troubleshooting DCS/PLC logic and process instrumentation, and leading improvement projects with cross-functional teams.

The position requires a BS in Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years in process automation, with 20–40% travel and on-call duties. Allentown, PA or LaPorte, TX locations.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 5+ years in process automation systems and/or instrumentation engineering required.
• Ability to travel 20%–40%, primarily US domestic.
• Flexibility to be on call 24/7/365 with rotation.

Responsibilities

• Support instrumentation and process control systems for North/South America facilities (O2, N2, He, CO2, H2).
• Troubleshoot urgent operational needs across Process Instrumentation, DCS, and PLC logic.
• Lead improvements with multi-disciplinary teams and support outages for PM tasks.
• Support asset optimization, address obsolescence, and meet safety and cost goals.
