Job summary

INEOS Phenol seeks an experienced automation engineer at its Mobile, AL site to own and optimize DCS/PLC control, ESD, and historian systems.

You will lead process control improvements, mentor operations and maintenance staff, and coordinate with contractors on TARs and safety interlocks.

The role requires deep knowledge of ISA/IEC standards, strong problem solving, and the ability to work across field and office environments.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of control theory and process dynamics for safe, reliable operation.
• Expertise in DCS/PLC/HMI, SIS safety systems, and instrumentation technologies.
• Proficient in PLC programming languages and alarm/data acquisition systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, implement and document a reliable control network with associated software.
• Develop preventive maintenance and inspection plans for DCS/ESD, Data Historian and alarms.
• Coordinate maintenance with ops/maintenance teams to avoid operational impact.
• Provide training on automated systems to plant personnel and contractors.
