Job summary
Evonik in Alabama is seeking an experienced automation engineer to support the process network in manufacturing plants. You will program, configure and troubleshoot the entire control system, lead resolution of issues, and contribute to safety and quality.
The role collaborates with maintenance and project teams, writing documentation, updating interlock lists, and driving improvements in alarm management and system integrity across on-site facilities.
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in process control, programming or related field with relevant experience.
- Leadership and teambuilding capability with ability to manage multiple assignments.
- Experience in an industrial environment is beneficial; Six Sigma knowledge is advantageous.
- Proficiency with multiple programming platforms listed in the job description.
Responsibilities
- Maintain plant control system components and generate monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
- Support automation configuration for Capital Projects, coordinating with third parties as needed.
- Assist in scope definition and ensure FDS are in place for all processes at the site.
- Coordinate with Maintenance and Plant personnel to provide control system support.
- Write and update plant control system documentation and ensure project documentation is filed.
