Job summary

Advanced Armor Research Group is seeking a Process Chemical Engineer for on-site work in Indian Head, MD. The role supports design, development, manufacture, test and evaluation of prototype components and systems.

The engineer will drive continuous-flow scale-up for energetic materials, develop P&IDs, BOMs, and control integration, while coordinating with vendors and sponsors to meet budgets and schedules with MIL-STD-882E safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Process or Chemical Engineering.
• 3–5 years minimum; 6–12+ years preferred in Manufacturing, Product Development, or R&D.
• US citizenship; ability to obtain security clearance.
• Pass drug test and background check.
• DoD/ Navy/ NSWC or EM/ NEST/ OTA experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support BTTN and BuNENA continuous-flow scale-up work.
• Develop P&IDs, CAD drawings, and BOMs; assist in skid design.
• Monitor supply chain, vendor materials, and budgets.
• Interface with vendors/sponsors to test systems per gov standards.
• Brief management on project progress and technical analyses.
• Draft technical reports and present to organizational levels.
