Job summary

Ralliant is seeking a hands-on engineer to own and improve energetic material manufacturing processes at our Chandler, AZ facility. You will work closely with production operators and cross‑functional teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation, while driving process safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires strong knowledge of PSM tools (PHA, MOC, PSSR) and process analytics, with a background in chemical engineering and experience in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical Engineering strongly preferred with related experience considered.
• 3+ years of relevant engineering experience; advanced candidates may have less.
• Experience in aerospace/defense, energetics, explosives, or other regulated process-manufacturing is preferred.
• Knowledge of organic and inorganic synthesis.
• Strong understanding of oxidation‑reduction chemistry and process principles.
• Proven experience with PSM, including PHA, MOC, PSSR, and audits.
• Experience with FMEA, root-cause analysis, SPC, or similar problem-solving tools.
• Proficient with MS Office; Excel capability; Access/Visio/Project a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to interact with operators and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support PSM activities (PHA, MOC, PSSR, audits) to ensure safety and compliance.
• Maintain and improve energetic material processes for safety, productivity, and reliability.
• Provide technical inputs for proposals and scale-up efforts.
• Support production with non-conforming material disposition and testing, and material assessments.
• Develop independent technical ownership of process lines; guide operators on safety and quality.
• Create, update, and maintain manufacturing instructions, SOPs, and process specs.
• Apply statistical analysis and SPC to key variables for optimization and data-driven decisions.
• Lead problem-solving (FMEA, Root Cause Analysis) for anomalies, nonconforming lots, and equipment issues.
