Job summary

X-Bow Systems in Crane, IN is seeking a Sr. Chemical Process Engineer to lead energetic chemical manufacturing operations and safety programs.

You will work with operators to ensure production meets key characteristics while maintaining strict environmental and safety standards. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in related industry, experience with process simulation and data analysis, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance as a US Person under ITAR.

Qualifications

• 5+ years directly related industry experience.
• Experience collaborating with Data/Automation/Controls engineers.
• Experience in multidisciplinary teams of ~5 engineers.
• Experience with process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; US Person per ITAR.

Responsibilities

• Operate energetic chemical manufacturing processes daily.
• Ensure energetic materials are made safely and per specs.
• Monitor processes for environmental compliance.
• Provide onsite technical support to operators on key characteristics.
• Collaborate with operators to improve process unit efficiency.
• Troubleshoot production processes to maintain efficiency.
• Conduct safety analyses of equipment.
• Assist in equipment testing, startup/shutdown, and maintenance.
• Serve as SME during emergencies and abnormal operations.
• Assist with design work for capital improvement projects.
• Help generate P&ID schematics.
• Develop procedures and process flow documentation.
• Maintain safety and environmental standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve throughput, safety, and waste.
• Support timelines and budgets; coordinate contractors/vendors.
