Job summary

Nammo Defense Systems, Inc. in the USA is seeking an Energetics Scientist/Engineer to act as a subject-matter expert for production propellants and liners. The role involves formulating, testing raw ingredients, lab-scale mixing, scale-up, property testing, and data analysis.

Reports to the Propellant, Explosives and Pyrotechnic Supervisor and collaborates with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will lead laboratory projects, develop and modify propellant formulas and processes,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Materials Science, Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Experience with lab instruments for energetic materials analysis and testing.
• Knowledge of energetic material regulations and safe handling.

Responsibilities

• Apply chemical principles to analyze and conduct propellant-related experiments.
• Develop and modify formulas, processes, and techniques for propellant manufacture.
• Establish tests to understand chemical, physical, and mechanical properties of propellants.
• Coach technicians, review results, and perform SPC/charting and predictive modeling.
