Job summary

State of Tennessee is seeking a Probation/Parole Officer in Coffee County. Under general supervision, you will perform professional probation and parole work of considerable difficulty and may supervise a small staff.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree and at least three years of relevant experience, plus extensive background checks and compliance with agency policies. This is a full-time role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3 years of related professional experience.
• Substitution of experience for degree allowed year-for-year.
• Graduate coursework may substitute for up to two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Requests arrest warrants for non-compliance by offenders per policy.
• Promotes team building and mentors/trains new staff.
• Analyzes reports and actions related to offenders under supervision.
• Monitors compliance with release requirements and standards.
• Audits casework and conducts offender interviews annually.
• Acts as liaison with judges, court personnel, and law enforcement.
• Interacts professionally with staff and offenders to maintain a respectful environment.
• Conducts risk and needs assessments to guide interventions.
• Prepares and maintains offender records and reports.
