Job summary

State of Tennessee is seeking a Probation/Parole Officer with leadership duties to guide a team and ensure high-quality case management in the Department of Correction, Weakley County. You will promote policy compliance, conduct audits, and mentor staff to improve offender supervision.

Responsibilities include risk assessments, coordinating with courts and law enforcement, and preparing detailed reports for parole board consideration.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and 3 years of professional level probation/parole, counseling, social work, investigative, or legal experience.
• Substitution of Experience for Education: relevant experience may substitute for degree on a year-for-year basis.
• Graduate coursework credit may substitute for up to two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Request warrants for offender noncompliance; promote collaboration and training.
• Review reports and address offender complaints; monitor progress toward release requirements.
• Audit casework for quality and adherence to standards; interview offenders annually.
• Liaise with judges, court personnel, and law enforcement to support goals.
• Conduct risk and needs assessments; prepare records and reports; support parole board actions.
