The Senior Private Wealth Banker is primarily responsible for making and servicing a wide variety of commercial and individual loans, both secured and unsecured, which are typically complex in nature.

Job Description

The Senior Private Wealth Banker primarily makes and services a variety of complex commercial and individual loans, secured and unsecured. Additional responsibilities include delivering Deposit Services, Brokerage, Investment Management, Trust, and Insurance services to high net worth clients and businesses.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  1. Participate in formulating strategies, identifying, evaluating, onboarding, and structuring key transactions to ensure financial health and maximize value throughout the product lifecycle. Actively identify new prospects and develop new loan and deposit business.
  2. Manage a portfolio of key and strategic customer relationships. Develop and execute tailored solutions that ensure customer satisfaction, loyalty, and profitability.
  3. Negotiate loan proposals with customers; analyze and evaluate credit requests; underwrite loan commitments; coordinate with the Private Wealth Underwriting group; recommend credit grades; present to the loan committee; and implement approval or declination actions.
  4. Monitor and manage existing credit relationships, including loan renewals, financial statement analysis, collateral valuations, credit and cash flow analysis, delinquency reporting, documenting exceptions, and covenant monitoring.
  5. Serve as a relationship manager in delivering products and services across departments; facilitate operational problem resolution for customers.
  6. Ensure business activities comply with external regulations, voluntary codes, and internal policies to minimize risk and protect the organization's reputation.

Education & Experience Requirements

Typically, a Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field plus 5-7 years of relevant experience, or 8-10 years of equivalent education and experience.

  • Knowledge of commercial and consumer lending practices, documentation, and servicing requirements.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles.
  • Experience in selling financial products/services.
  • Understanding of credit underwriting, documentation, policies, and regulations.
  • Financial analysis skills, including ratio, trend analysis, and projections.
  • Knowledge of client benefits in Brokerage, Investment Management, Trust, and Insurance.
  • Strong communication skills for reports and presentations.
  • Proficiency in PC applications like Word and Excel.
