Job summary

Harper James is seeking an experienced Senior Privacy Consultant / Data Protection Officer to join its outsourced DPO service. You’ll manage client relationships and provide practical privacy guidance from a remote base, without requiring a law degree.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data protection experience.
• Experience managing outsourced DPO services or privacy programmes.
• Knowledge of UK GDPR, Data Protection Act and PECR.
• Experience with DPIAs and data subject access requests.
• Experience with audits, training and governance.
• Ability to work with founders and senior stakeholders.
• Understanding of international data transfers.

Responsibilities

• Become trusted point of contact for a portfolio of clients and act as their DPO where appropriate.
• Set priorities, review progress and provide clear advice.
• Collaborate with founders, senior managers, HR and IT teams.
• Maintain records and escalate when specialist input is needed.
• Work with Harper James data protection solicitors on complex issues.
