Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Managing Senior Counsel to lead the privacy legal and compliance team supporting CVS Caremark. You will provide timely, strategic counsel on HIPAA, privacy requirements, and data protection to internal partners, balancing legal issues with business objectives.

The role includes managing privacy professionals and advising on privacy matters across PBM operations. You will identify risks, drive regulatory compliance initiatives, and influence critical contracts and data-use

Qualifications

10+ years of legal experience with a law firm, health plan, or health care system focused on HIPAA, privacy requirements, data protection, or related regulatory matters
Deep subject matter expertise of privacy laws, including HIPAA and other federal and state privacy laws and regulations
Experience with data governance and HIPAA data regulations, including research and de-identification
Bachelor’s degree and J.D. with admission to practice law in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; experience with health care laws and PBM laws

Responsibilities

Lead the privacy legal and compliance team supporting CVS Caremark business.
Provide timely and strategic legal counsel to internal partners on HIPAA, privacy, and data protection.
Identify business and legal risks and balance issues with business objectives.
Advise on privacy issues related to member information in PBM operations, including HIPAA counsel and incident management.
Manage colleagues on the privacy team.
