Job summary

ICON is seeking a Senior Printing Test Technician in Austin to oversee test preparation, execution, and printer maintenance across indoor/outdoor environments. You will manage materials, inventory, and reporting while coordinating with the Testing Lead.

The role demands hands-on leadership of Phoenix Testing Technicians, strong diagnostics across electrical, mechanical, and software domains, and proactive prevention of downtime.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on manufacturing or 5+ years related experience, or 2+ years in supervision.
• Proven experience supervising Field Operations Technicians and aligning with policies.
• Coordinate delivery and inventory of building materials for success.
• Coordinate printer repairs, parts, replacements, and calibrations.
• Collaborate with sustaining engineering to resolve complex challenges.
• Diagnose across electrical, mechanical and software domains; maintain documentation.
• Preventative maintenance and advanced troubleshooting with diagnostic tools.
• Experience with hydraulic systems and renewals; strong troubleshooting skills.
• Document troubleshooting steps and repairs to ICON standards.
• Track build activity steps in Procore from print to completion.
• Terminate camlock power cables and EtherCAT cables; operate heavy machinery.

Responsibilities

• Test Execution and Leadership: ensure shift success, schedule, and budget alignment.
• Coordinate material delivery and set up for success; communicate under pressure.
• Oversee test build activities: foundation prep, installation, shoring, bonds.
• Lead Phoenix Testing Technicians; provide guidance per policies.
• Service and Repairs: perform printer repairs, calibrations, and hardware setup.
• Remote access troubleshooting; use TwinCAT for navigation and topology.
• Update ticketing system with status and steps; ensure accurate logs.
• Performance and Data Reporting: real-time progress updates and milestones.
• Safety and SOP compliance; ensure 100% SOP adherence on shift.
• Travel up to Austin area and occasional nights/weekends as needed.
